Chairman of the Banking Commission, ICC France.
Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Banking Commission.
Co-chairman of the Task Force on Financial Institutions and International Arbitration.
Chairman (2002-2012), and now Honorary Chairman, of the Task Force on Guarantees.
Chairman of the drafting group of the ICC Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG 758).
Member of the Council of the Institute of World Business Law by appointment of the ICC Secretary General.
Member of the International Court of Arbitration (Second Term expiring 30 June 2021).
Chairman of the ICC Documentary Dispute Resolution by Expertise (DOCDEX) rules revision group, a joint task force between the Commission on Arbitration and the Banking Commission – rules adopted in 2014 (see at this link).
Vice-Chairman of the Banking Commission (2001 – 2013).

United Nations
Between 2004 and 2006, delegate to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) for the drafting of a legislative guide on secured transactions.
Member of the Expert Panel of UNCITRAL on secured transactions, the UN Convention on International Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit and on the UN Convention on the Assignment of Receivables in International Trade.

Member of the Board of Governors of the UNIDROIT Foundation, Rome.
Member of the Advisory Board of the Queen Mary-UNIDROIT Institute of Transnational Commercial Law (ITCL).

International Trade Center (UNCTAD / WTO)
Acted as expert on international banking and trade finance for the International Trade Center of the UN Commission on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Drafted several reports (see list of publications) and spoke extensively in conferences in developing countries in relation to access to credit, modernizing the secured transaction framework and enhancing trade finance as part of the transition to an open market economy.

International Law Association (ILA)
Rapporteur on Resolution No. 3/2012 Principles of Jurisdiction over Foreign Bank Branches in the Matter of Extraterritorial Attachment and Turnover. The resolution was sponsored by the Committee on International Monetary Law (Mocomila) and unanimously adopted at the 75th Conference of the International Law Association held in Sofia, Bulgaria, 26 to 30 August 2012 (Resolution).

French Committee on Arbitration
Chairman of the working group on arbitration in banking and financial matters. The Group presented publicly its report at a hearing at the Court of Appeal of Paris on 26 June 2014.

Paris Europlace
Chairman of the Working Group on Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution in Islamic Finance. The Group delivered its report in June 2009. The report was translated into English and Arabic and has been the subject of a number of articles and comments in law reviews.

European Commission
French law rapporteur in a pan-European study on the identification of legal obstacles for the proper functioning of the internal market and distortions of competition.

International Swap and Derivatives Association (ISDA)
Advisor to the ISDA Financial Law Reform Committee on the ISDAfied arbitration clauses, adopted in 2013 as supplement to the ISDA Master Agreement for derivatives. Member of the ISDA Arbitration Group.
